Basavana Bagevadi is a panchayat town situated in the Bijapur district in the state of Karnataka in the southern part of India. The city of Bijapur, which is at a distance of 530 km northwest of Bangalore, is the administrative headquarters of the district. Bijapur is renowned for the great monuments of historical significance constructed during the Adil Shahi dynasty. The places to visit in the district are Ibrahim Rauza, Jumma Masjid, Malik e Maidan, Upri Buruj, Chand Bawdi, Asar Mahal, Gagan Mahal, Barakaman, Anand Mahal, Jod Gumbaz, Sat Manzil and Jal Manzil.
