Barpeta Road, AssamBarpeta Road is a city as well as a municipal board situated in the Barpeta district in the state of Assam in India. The district headquarters of the administrative district of Barpeta are located at Barpeta. The district spreads over an area of 3245 square km and has a total population of 1,642,420 (as per the 2001 census).

The city of Barpeta Road is one of the most significant business places of Assam. It is positioned close to the 31st National Highway, at a distance of 14 km from the city of Barpeta. As per the 2001 India census, the city of Barpeta Road has a total population of 35,281. Males compose 52% of the population and females make up 48%. Barpeta Road has a mean literacy rate of 74%, higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 57% of the males and 43% of the females are literate. 11% of the population is children lass than 6 years of age. There are lots of good educational schools and colleges in the city. Some of these are St. Mary`s High School, Gopinath Bordoloi High School and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
