Bargur is a town of the Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu. The town has picked up its significance due to Mango, Coconut and Banana production. It is one of the main revenue blocks in the district of Krishnagiri.

Bargur, Tamil NaduBargur is located in the Krishnagiri district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is a panchayat town located at an average elevation of 533 m above the sea level. The town was comprised on 1969 by consolidating 8 villages. Bargur town spreads over a degree of 22.50 sqkm and it is partitioned into 15 wards. Bargur assembly constituency is under the Krishnagiri Lok Sabha constituency represented by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

As per 2011 census, Bargur has population of 16,366 of which 8,316 are males and 8,050 are females. The population of children between ages 0-6 years is 1,810 which is 11.06 percent of total population. The literacy rate of Bargur is 70.87 percent out of which 76.18 percent males are literate and 65.38 percent females are literate.
