Since these waterfalls are situated within the protected boundaries of the wildlife national park, special care is taken by the Government of Odisha to preserve them. Barehipani Falls has a total height of 1,309 ft. It is a tiered waterfall with two drops. The tallest single drop is 850 ft.

This waterfall is a two tiered waterfall located in Simlipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is one amongst the higher waterfalls in India. Barehipani Falls originate from the Budhabalanga River. The water of Barehipani Falls gushes out from a cliff. The entire course of the Barehipani Falls cascades right from the cliff to the pool is breathtaking. There are large numbers of people seen every year who visit the waterfalls for its mesmerizing beauty.

Barehipani Falls is easily accessible through the railways and roadways. The nearest railway station is at Baripada. The Joranda Falls is located nearby. It is 120 km away from a small town Jashipur. Near Barehipani Falls, there are many tourist attractions like Joranda Falls, Shimlipal Reserve forest and many other tourist attractions. Joranda waterfalls are situated close to the Barehipani falls. It is less high than Barehipani falls and achieve a height of 152 meters. This is a type of single thread waterfall. Both the falls are very violent in nature during the monsoons which is evident from the lack of natural vegetation around the falls.
