Banu Main Teri Dulhan was a popular serial of Zee TV. This serial was about the story of an illiterate village girl, Vidya. The story basically depicted the life of a girl whose marriage was like a fairy tale. She got married to a rich businessman Sagar and reaches Delhi. In her family but no body loves her there. It is the story about the struggles of Vidya in her life for the love of her in-laws. Both the lead characters were played by fresh new faces.
Plot of Banu Main Teri Dulhan
The story of Banu Main Teri Dulhan depicted the life and the struggles of a simple village girl name Vidya, who was from Banaras. She was married to a rich businessman, Sagar, who was mentally challenged. Everyone in her new house hated her and even her husband refused to take her side. Sagar`s step sister Sindoora was jealous of Vidya as all the property of Sagar`s dad was in her name. Thus, she tried different plans to kick her out of the house. On the other hand, slowly and gradually Sagar accepts Vidya and falls in love. Then the story revolves around the struggles and problems Vidya had to face. After a while the story of the serial took a leap where they the reincarnation of Sagar and Vidya. They return as after 21 years as Amar and Divya and they also fall in love. Eventually they also got married. Sindoora finally died and the serial had a happy ending.
Cast of Banu Main Teri Dulhan
Divyanka Tripathi played the protagonist role of Vidya in the serial. Divyanka is a former model, anchor and sports freak person. Sharad Malhotra played the character of Sagar in Banu Main Teri Dulhan. He performed the character of a mentally challenged person very well. Sharad Malhotra is from Kolkata. Surinder Kaur played the role of Sagar`s mother in the serial. Kamya Punjabi played the role of Sindoora. Interestingly, most of her characters in other serials are vamp roles. Other noted actors of the serial were Rajendra Gupta, Jaya Bhattacharya, Rajesh Balwani, Shyam Sharma, Mohit Malik, Harsh Vasishta, Punit Vashisht, Suhita Thatte, Renuka Bondre and more.
The serial was on air from 14th of August, 2006 to 28th May, 2009, and was a huge hit among the audience.
