Bana was the eldest son of Bali. Bali had one hundred sons and Bana was eldest among them. Bana had a thousand arms. Usha was the daughter of Bana. After seeing Parvathi sporting with her lord Shiva, Bana`s daughter was inspired to get a same companion.
On the request of Usha, the goddess Parvathi promised her a husband, who should appear to her in a dream on a certain night. This blessing became true and she got her dream man Aniruddha with the magic power of her companion Chitralekha. He was the prince of Dwaraka. She brought him to the palace of Bana from Dwaraka.
Bana was not ready to accept Aniruddha as his son in law. This led to the contest and in this conflict Bana wounded Krishna, who came searching for Aniruddha. However, Bana had to lose his thousand arms and was nearly killed by Krishna.
