Bahuka was also a worthy king of the Solar Dynasty. He was aware of the grave dangers that Kosala was exposed to. Hence without loosing much time he formed a strong army for protection. When the Haihayas and the Talajanghas attacked Oudh they were defeated by his powerful army. Under Bahuka they next joined hands with the Yavana Kingdom, the Hunas, the Paradas, the Sakas, the Keralas, the Chinese and the Cholas. They all together attacked Ayodhya. Bahuka fought fiercefully but not stand against the enemies. The unvanquishable city was thus conquered by the enemies. Bahuka, along with his two queens left the kingdom to dwell in the abode of sage Aurva in the Himalayas. At this time one of his queens, Yadavi was then pregnant hence out of jealousy the other queen poisoned her. Later sage Aurva gave her by a medicinal drug by which she was saved. Meanwhile Bahuka died and his pregnant wife wished to be a sati. She was however not allowed for it and later she delivered Prince Sagara in the sage`s hermitage. Sage Aurva taught the infant the entire Vedas, preached him about various arms and fire-weapons. As Sagara grew up he collected a strong army and attacked Ayodhya and won the battle.
