Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh and is said to be one of the most famous wildlife reserves in this part of the country. Of the aggregate amount of surface area of this Indian state as much as 44 percent of this region is filled with dense forests and wildlife sanctuaries. Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary remains open throughout the year though visitors must approach it during the period between November and June as it is considered the best time to do so. The area covered by the sanctuary provides shelter to a large number of flora and fauna.

Visitors will come across beautiful greenery inside the premises of Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary including Teak Forests, Evergreen Sal Forests and also Mixed Forests of various kinds in this sanctuary.
Fauna of Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary
Indian Gazelle, Bison, Deer, Hyena, Chinkara, Spotted Deer, Chausingha, Jackal, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Sambar are all present in this sanctuary. Leopard and Tiger can also be observed at the Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary, though they are existent in a small quantity. The different birds which dwell here comprise the Stork, Peacock, Pigeon, Parrot, Quail and plenty of marvellous migratory birds who arrive in the Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary. At times, if visitors are lucky enough they might also catch sight of certain rare birds in the sanctuary.
