Asman Garh Palace
Asman Garh Palace is a model palace; located in the newly formed South Indian state Telangana. Asman Garh Palace was built by Sir Asman Jah in the year 1885. The castle resembles the castles of Europe.

Hyderabad is now the capital city of both Telangana and Andhrta Pradesh. Asman Garh Palace has been built in a style that resembles the castles of Europe. Etymologically Asman means the sky and Garh means home. The palace was so named as it was located high on a hillock.

Asman Garh Palace is located on the road from Malakpet and Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad area of Telangana. After independence, Asman Garh Palace was turned into a museum which displays archaeological relics that were found from the different parts of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Warangal, and Maharashtra. It has been recently converted into a school known as the St Joseph`s Public School.

History of Asman Garh Palace
Asman Garh Palace was conceptualized and designed by Sir Asman Jah in 1885. His real name was Mohammed Mazharuddin Khan and was the grandson of the second Nizam, Sikander Jah. He was a noble hailing from the Paigah family and also served as the Prime Minister of the ancient state of Hyderabad. Asman Jah had built the fort on a hillock for leisure. He fulfilled his dream of constructing a home close to the sky. It is supposed that this architectural splendour of late medieval era- Asman Garh Palace was built with an influence from the regal castle of Europe. Sir Asman Jah was a nobleman who belonged to the Paigah clan and later became the Prime Minister of Hyderabad, when the Nizams of Hyderabad ruled once the Princely Sate of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesam and Telangana.

Architecture of Asman Garh Palace
Asman Garh Palace is based on Gothic style of architecture and is in the shape of a European medieval castle. The granite turrets and arched windows of Asman Garh Palace coronet a hill situated at a close distance from the Hyderabad TV tower. The palace houses a museum that displays archaeological relics. Asman Garh Palace has the Durbar Hall, Prayer Hall, Private Rooms and the royal courtyard.

Asman Garh Palace is easily accessible through air, rail and road. Hyderabad, being the capital city, is well connected to all the important cities in Andhra Pradesh. The best time to visit the palace is during the months of October to March.
