Early Life of Ashok Amritraj
Ashok Amritraj was born on 22nd February 1956. He is an Indian American film producer, former tour professional tennis player, chairman and CEO of Hyde Park Entertainment. He has also taken as the CEO of National Geographic Films.

Career of Ashok Amritraj
Ashok Amritraj is also a former tennis player and has represented India on an international level. During his nine-year career, he competed in doubles at Wimbledon and the US Open, reaching the third round of the latter in 1977. Ashok Amritraj also gained victories over Paul McNamee and his brother Vijay Amritraj in singles. As a junior, he reached the quarterfinals of the boys` singles at Wimbledon in 1975. Both his brothers, Vijay and Anand Amritraj, are accomplished tennis players, together reaching the Davis Cup Tennis final in 1987.

Other Career of Ashok Amritraj

Amritraj has produced over 100 films, grossing an excess of 2 billion dollars worldwide, including Hollywood films such as Antitrust, Walking Tall, and Bringing Down the House, which starred Steve Martin and Queen Latifah and Tamil film Jeans. Among his upcoming movies are projects based on Lee Falk`s comic strip characters Mandrake the Magician and The Phantom. Ashok Amritraj also produced The Other End of the Line in collaboration with MGM Studios and India`s Reliance MediaWorks Ltd in 2008.

He has also produced a talent hunt programme for newcomers in the field of direction by the name of Gateway. The program is aired on Sony PIX channel.

Ashok Amritraj in Entertainment Arena
Ashok Amritraj sat on the board of the Motion Picture and Television Fund (MPTF) for seven years. On Sunday, 19 April 2009, Ashok Amritraj and his wife Chitra were honoured at a private ceremony held at MPTF`s Wasserman Campus for their sponsorship of a residence at the Ray and Linda Stark Villa. He has also taken over as the CEO of National Geographic Films. In January 2012 year, Hyde Park Entertainment, National Geographic and Image Nation signed a pact to deliver high-quality entertainment. His Auto-Biography is called as Advantage Hollywood.

Ashok Amritraj lives in Los Angeles with his 2 children, Priya and Milan, along with his wife, Chitra.
