Indian Mythology describes Arundhati as the wife of sage Vashisht, the chief of the seven acclaimed sages or `Saptarshi` and the Rajguru of the Suryavamsha or Solar Dynasty. She is identified with the morning star and is invoked during the marriage ceremonies of the Hindus. She is recognized as a figure of an ideal wife.
