The Jains called the Supreme Being as Arugan. The God is popularly known by the name Jinan, or Jainan and therefore the term Jains. One thousand and eight sacred names are attributed to the God. The attributes of omnipotence and omniscience, of omnipresence and infinite generosity are given to this deity.
