Apara Mehta is one of the most popular TV actresses who began her career as a Gujarati theatre actress. She became popular for the role of "Savita Chaachi" in the Hindi serial "Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" that was aired on STAR Plus channel. Her first major break was in "Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka".
Early Life of Apara Mehta
Apara Mehta was born on 13th August 1960 to Ushakant Mehta and Mandakini Mehta in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. She moved to Mumbai in 1972. After finishing her schooling from St. Lauren"s School and CD Barfivala School in Mumbai, she graduated from Mithibai College, Mumbai and got her training in Kathak dance from Asha Jhoglekar. She also learnt Classical Music from Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
Career of Apara Mehta
Apara Mehta started her acting career with a Gujarati play called "Tan Man Dhan" in 1981and in 1996; she acted with Paresh Rawal in a play called "Maharathi". She became popular with the 1997 serial "Sapna Na Vaavetar" (Gujarati) and "Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka" (Hindi) while in 2000, she was approached by Ekta Kapoor"s Balaji Telefilms and was offered the role of "Savita Mansukh Virani" in the serial "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" on Star Plus which made her famous. She then appeared in a negative role in "Saat Phere", "Parrivaar", "Dhak Dhak in Dubai", "Dillagi", "Alpviram", "Hum Hain Anari", "Love Marriage" and "Chandan Ka Palna".
She has acted in over 150 plays in various roles. Along with her acting skills, Apara Mehta is also talented in singing and dancing. Besides theatre and television, she had also done films. Apara Mehta was also seen as one of the judges of the dance reality show “Aajaa Mahi Vay†on Star Plus channel.
