Mysore, the land of the Mahishasur in the ancient times is an interesting city. It has a historical background of its own. Once ruled by the Wodeyar dynasty, Mysore, today is the second largest software exporter in the state of Karnataka. Relating to the past, Mysore is also a major place of tourism. As such, there is located the Anthropological Museum.
Established in the year 1965, the Anthropological Museum in Mysore was formed by the Anthropological Survey of India. The displayed objects are those of ethnographic type from the tribes of Southern India.
Interested people may visit the place between 10am to 5:30pm except on Sundays and Central Government Holidays.
