An animal lover will definitely fall in love with Anshi National Park. The flora of this place has been blessed with plants like eucalyptus, bamboo, teak, xylia xylocarpa, silver oak, bauhinia and others. This 340 square kilometer park is located in the Western Ghats. The mountain forms the beautiful backdrop of the park. The altitude of the place varies from 27-927 meters. Although the rainfall is heavy but the laterite soil fails to retain water. To fight this problem the park has set up bore well pumps.

Anshi National Park is blessed with nature`s abundance. The variety of animals found here are:-

Tiger, Wild pig, Bonnet macaque, Gaur, Deer, Barking deer, Mouse deer, Leopard, Jackal, Loris, Langur, Wild cat, Giant flying squirrel, Indian civet, Mongoose Elephant, Wild dog, Sloth bear, Porcupine, Sambar, Malabar giant squirrel

The reptiles here comprise of rat snake, king cobra, vipers, python, cobra and kraits. Several groups of bird are also available here. While touring the forest one can easily come across great pied hornbill, Ceylon frogmouth and Malabar pied.

Anshi National Park in Karnataka is accessible from Bangalore by road and the nearest railway stations are at Belgaum and Dharwad.
