Ankur Nayyar is an Indian television and film actor, who has acted in many different TV shows, best known for portraying the lead role of Samman Chaudhary in Sahara One`s "Ghar Ek Sapnaa". He has worked in various television soaps of Balaji Telefilms including "Kasautii Zindagii Kay" and "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi", and other shows such as "Jeet", "Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand", "Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki", "Ghar Ek Sapnaa" and most recently "Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap", "Ek Boond Ishq", "Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev" and "Siya Ke Ram". He started his career as a model and has acted in a few Hindi films.
Early Life of Ankur Nayyar
Ankur Nayyar was born on May 27, 1977, in Pathankot, Punjab. In the year 2000, he bagged the Gladrags Manhunt North India and later represented the North Zone at the Gladrags Manhunt All India Finals, where he was placed in the top 5. He successfully modelled in ad commercials for Maruti Alto, Rotomac Pen, Nivea Cream, Dollar Body Warmer, M. L. Freedom Bike, Kodak movie, Nestle Bar One Chocolate, Ponds Deodorant and Atlas Cycles. He also shot videos for well-known singers, the likes of Jagjit Singh and Shubha Mudgal.
Career of Ankur Nayyar
Ankur Nayyar started his television career in 2001, with the popular Hindi daily soap opera "Kasautii Zindagii Kay", playing the role of Subroto Basu. He then played the parallel lead role of Aamir Bhatt in "Kashmeer" in 2003, followed by "Ek Aur Fauji" on Sony Sab, "Jeet" on STAR Plus, "Reth" on Zee TV, "Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand" on STAR Plus, "Hey... Yehii To Haii Woh!" on STAR One, "Kohinoor" on Sahara One, "Viraasat" on STAR One, "Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye" on Sahara One, "Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki" on Sahara One, "Durgesh Nandinii" on Sony Entertainment TV, "Left Right Left" on Sony Sab, "Ghar Ek Sapnaa" on Sahara One, "Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli" on Zee TV, "Humse Hai Liife" on Channel V and "Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek Arjun" on STAR Plus.
Since 2013, Ankur has been seen in different roles in TV shows. He played Acharya Raghvendra in "Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap" that aired on Sony TV till 2015, antagonist Omkar Agnihotri in "Ek Boond Ishq" and supporting character Krauncha Giri on "Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev", both of which aired on Life OK till 2014. He is currently seen as supporting antagonist Indrajit in STAR Plus" historical epic daily TV series "Siya Ke Ram".
Ankur Nayyar was seen in a few Bollywood movies, namely "Yakeen" in 2005 as Siddhartha Thakur, "Detective Naani" in 2009 as CID Inspector Bhatia and "Singham" in 2011 as Inspector Abbas.
