Early Life of Ankita Raina
She was born on 11 January 1993 in a Kashmiri Pandit family in Ahmedabad. Her mother tongue is Kashmiri and she can speak Hindi, Gujarati and English. Presently, she is pursuing a bachelor`s degree at Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce in Pune.

Career of Ankita Raina
Ankita started playing tennis at the age of five and prefers hard and grass courts. In 2007, she relocated to the PYC Hindu Gymkhana sports facility in Pune. There she began training under the guidance of Hemant Bendrey and Ketan Dhumal. She had a promising junior career.

In 2009, she made her first professional appearance at a small ITF tournament in Mumbai. Till the year 2010, she continued participating in local tournaments however she achieved little success. She tasted success in the 2011 season. The season saw her advance to three ITF Circuit finals in doubles, winning one with another Indian tennis player Aishwarya Agrawal.

She earned her first professional singles title in 2012. She also won three more in doubles in the same year. Her rankings kept on climbing high since 2013. In October of 2013, her singles ranking was No. 291. Then on 12 January 2015, she reached her singles ranking of world number 239. On 5 January 2015, she peaked at world number 260 in the doubles rankings.
