Anjuna Village, GoaAnjuna village is located in the Goa state of India. It is one of the twelve Brahmin comunidades of Bardez. Like all of Goa, this village too was long held by the Portuguese. In the year 1950, Anjuna had a population of 5,688. The village is a five square mile enclosure nestling between the Arabian Sea and the hill overlooking the beach. The village of Anjuna is known for its stunning natural beauty. The beach of Anjuna which is popular throughout the world for its parties is it"s another highlight.

Historical Places of Anjuna Village
The village of Anjuna is home to an ancient church and some chapels. People can visit St. Michael`s Church which was founded in the year 1595. It is dedicated to S. Miguel, and celebrates the feasts of S. Miguel on 29th September and Nossa Senhora Advogada on the second week of January. There are three large chapels in the parish: the one to S. Antonio, to Nossa Senhora de Saude, and to Nossa Senhora de Piedade.

Anjuna Beach
The scenic beauty, swaying palms and soft sands of the beach lures nature admirers from varied distant places. The beach is marked by an unusual rocky formation overlying a cove of white sand and black rock that juts out into the sea. This area was known as the `Jewel of Anjuna`. The beach of Anjuna is positioned adjacent to Chapora fort. The fort is one of the sight-seeing highlights of this beach. The beach is popular among the adventure enthusiasts for various recreational activities like paragliding and windsurfing.

Anjuna beach is a favourite hunt among the party lovers. The ideal time to visit the beach is early November till March. Other Attractions of Anjuna Village
Anjuna hosts the famous flea market which is usually held on every Wednesday where small cafes, bars and Kashmiri handicrafts stalls can be seen lined. From here, one can purchase anything ranging from fruits to jewellery to clothes to electronic devices as a mark of memory.

Connectivity of Anjuna Village
The village of Anjuna can be well accessed by airway, railway and roadway. The nearest airport is Dabolim which is approximately 29km away from Panaji and 47 km from Anjuna. The closest railway station is at Karmali, 11km from Panaji and 29 km from Anjuna. Those who are planning to reach by road can avail buses from Mapusa. From here, one can also hire bikes.
