Andhra University or Andhra Viswa Kala Parishad is located in Visakhapatnam, north east coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra PradeshAndhra University is one of the oldest premier universities in India with a broad focus. It was established in 1926 and shared affiliating responsibilities with University of Madras initially. It caters to the needs of five districts of Andhra Pradesh- Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam. In these districts 575 colleges are affiliated to the University.

There are four constituent colleges of the University. The college of arts and commerce offers 55 courses under 28 departments. The engineering college offers undergraduate and post graduate courses under 16 departments. The college of science and technology runs 19 departments and offers 44 courses. The law college provides advanced courses on legal studies.

Apart from the main campus in Vishakapatnam the University has its campus in Etcherla, Kakinada, East Godavari district, Srikakulam district, West Godavari district Tadepalligudem and Vizianagaram. There are 32 study centres. The University has its own Press & Publications Division Central Workshop.
