Amochu River is a river flowing westward in the country of Bhutan. The country is rich with natural inland waters with several rivers and streams. Several small lakes also flow in these hilly areas of the country. The main rivers flowing in this region are Wangchu (Westward), Wangduphodrang Tsang Chu (middle west direction) and Manas (westward).

The river Amochu divides into the rivers of Hachu, Parochu and Thimpuchu. Wangduphodrang Tsang has several tributaries but the main ones are on its upper courses are Punakhachu and Tangchu Phochu. The Amochu river is characterized as clear with fast flowing waters during the dry months of the year i.e from October to April but because of their big watersheds they may suddenly swell and have highly muddy waters during the rainy monsoon period from May to September. Changes in volumes of waters of as much as 5-10 meters in water level have been noticed.
