The pillars of it are composed of diamonds the thrones are of pure gold. Amaravathi is surrounded with gardens and fountains, while music and dancing entertain the celestial inhabitants.

Amaravathi is a ruined town on the banks of the river Kistna. It contains numerous antiquities in the form of sculptures, most of them having Buddhist origin. Many explorations are made by Sir Walter Elliot and Mr. Fergusson here in Amaravathi.
