All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Entrance Exam (AIPMT), is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examination, Delhi. AIPMT is organized at an all India level (excluding the states of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh). It is conducted in order to select the suitable aspirants for admission to near about 15% of the total seats for the various Medical/Dental courses in all the popular medical colleges run by the Government of India, State Governments, or some local authorities of several states in India. The announcement for the All India Pre-medical Examination (AIPMT) usually comes in the months of October and November and this test is generally conducted in the months of either March or April.

Students who are interested in taking admissions in the reputed medical colleges of the country appear for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Exam. Entrance test examinations to Medical and Dental colleges of the country are basically conducted on a national basis as well as on state level. AIPMT is conducted on all India level and in compliance with the specified directives and rules and regulations issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Application Forms
Interested candidates can apply for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) either in online mode or in offline mode. Students need to obtain the application forms from certain designated branches of Canara Bank and also from the Regional Offices of CBSE only by payment of cash. Candidates must remember that application forms obtained from any unauthorized source will be rejected by the board. They must send the completed application form before the last date of submission by Registered Post/Speed Post only. Application forms received after the last date of submission or by any private courier services will not be accepted. The information bulletin and application form can also be obtained by sending a written request with a Demand Draft by Post from the Board along with a self addressed envelope. Eligibility criteria for AIPMT Exam
For applying, the minimum eligibility criterion is that the candidate has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission. Moreover, the candidate must be of Indian nationality as only the Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for this exam. The student must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology, mathematics and English as core subjects at the 10+2 level.

Pattern of Examination
All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) comprises two rounds of exams. The Preliminary test would consist of one paper that contains 200 objective types of questions with four options and a single correct answer from the core subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Biology (both Botany and Zoology). The answers need to be answered on special machine-gradable papers by using Ball Point Pen only. The duration is 3 hours. Those candidates, who qualify in the preliminary round, are eligible to appear for the final round of examination. The final test paper would comprise two sections each of 2 hours duration. Paper-1 would include questions from Physics and Chemistry and Paper-2 would include questions from Biology (Botany and Zoology). The final round will also have non-objective type of questions. Candidates can choose question papers either in English or in Hindi language.

Selection Process
Students those who clear both the rounds of examination get selected for admissions to the Medical/Dental Courses. Allotment of seats is made after the personal appearance of the candidates.
