Ali Fazal is an Indian actor. He made his Bollywood debut with a special appearance in "3 Idiots" and he next appeared in films like "Fukrey", "Bobby Jasoos" and "Khamoshiyan" followed by his first American film "Furious 7".

Ali Fazal got recognition through his role of engineering student "Joy Lobo" in the super-hit movie "3 Idiots". Later, he played the lead role in `Fukrey` and `Khamoshiyan`.

Early Life of Ali Fazal
Ali Fazal was born on 15th October 1986 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He was brought up in a middle-class family from a village near the Ganges. He completed schooling from Doon School in Dehradun. He used to play basketball during his school days with the hopes of representing India as a basketball player. In 2004, he was selected for the role of `Trinculo` in the role play of "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare, which resulted in developing his passion for theatre. He came to Mumbai and graduated in economics from St. Xavier"s College.

Career of Ali Fazal
Ali Fazal started his career with TV commercials such as Pizza Hut, LG, Micromax Mobile and Cadbury Silk. While performing a stage show, director Rajkumar Hirani noticed Ali Fazal and signed him for "3 Idiots". After that he got a major break-through since he acted alongside superstars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor and was noted by all. In 2011, Ali Fazal appeared in "Always Kabhi Kabhi" and was proved to be a box office flop.

In 2014, he appeared in a supporting role, opposite Vidya Balan in comedy-drama "Bobby Jasoos. The same year he appeared in the film "Sonali Cable" opposite Rhea Chakraborty, where he portrayed the role of `Raghu`. Both the films were declared to be box office flops. Ali Fazal next took the lead role in a psychological horror thriller "Khamoshiyan". He portrayed the role of `Kabir`, an alcoholic novelist, whose failed career and relationship forcing him to move to Kashmir in search of an inspirational story.

Ali Fazal made his Hollywood film debut with a special appearance in the action film "Furious 7", the seventh installment in "The Fast and the Furious" film series. He played a tycoon, and according to him, the character is not like a typical Indian character.
