He has worked in films mostly in comic roles and is also the winner of Comedy Circus competition and Comedy Circus Ke Taansen. Ali Asgar has gained popularity mostly for his role of Kamal Agarwal in the series Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. He has also carved a niche for himself with a repertoire of roles that are far from the stifled and suffering kind. The fact that he has a very strong personality gives Asgar an edge to avoid the run-of-the-mill kind of roles.

Early Life of Ali Asgar
Ali Asgar was born and raised in Mumbai. He was initially engaged in the business of restaurant. Asgar pursued a course in catering from the Institute of Hotel Management at Dadat, Mumbai. After the successful completion of his degree, he got an offer from abroad to join a hotel in the food and beverage department. But as the contract demanded his presence in abroad for a span of 10 years, Ali Asgar decided to refuse the offer and stay back with his family. It was then he opted for a career in acting.

Career of Ali Asgar
Ali Asgar has been hugely successful in Hindi television serials. His most famous role was of Kamal Agarwal in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and the role of an engineer in Dil Vil Pyar Vyar. He is also appeared in the leading role of Inspector Raj Aryan in F.I.R. His other serials include Ghar Ki Baat Hai, Kutumb, Do Aur Do Paanch, Neev, Zara Nachke Dikha, Ghauranda, Kartavya, Parampara, Hum Paanch, Karz, Itihaas, Yeh to Hona Hi Tha etc.

Ali Asgar is also a renowned face in Hindi films and has been featured in films like Tees Mar Khan, Do Knot Disturb, Raaz, Khalnayak, Joru Ka Ghulam, Horn `OK` Pleassss, Hum Ho Gaye Aapke, Josh, Sunday, Partner, Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, Shaadi No. 1, Chamatkar, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage etc.

Ali Asgar claims that comedy is the most difficult thing to enact. He has a very simple idea about life and that is smiling at the cost of any adverse situations as a smile can only be given as charity.
