The college is recognised by the State Government of Karnataka and is affiliated to the Gulbarga University. The College has also got approval from the Dental Council of India (DCI) and it is being managed by the Al-Badar Educational and Charitable Trust. The college is working on achieving some certain aims and objectives like spreading medical education among the students of Karnataka and providing quality treatment to the people of the state.

The Al-Badar Dental College and Hospital (ABDCH), Bangalore offers several courses to the students in different branches of medical science at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It admits the students in B.D.S Course according to the norms prescribed by the Supreme Court. Admission in this college is open to students from all parts of India. The eligibility of the candidates is determined according to the regulations of Gulbarga University and Govt. guidelines. The students are required to appear for an entrance test and interview along with documents, for getting admitted in the college.

According to the admission rules of the Al-Badar Dental College and Hospital (ABDCH), Bangalore, the students should pass the two years Pre-University examination conducted by the State of Karnataka, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects, or an examination recognised as equivalent like CBSE Examination, XII standard or Intermediate Science, to get admitted. The students, who have passed the B.Sc., Degree Examination of Gulbarga University or of any other University recognised as equivalent there to with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects, are also considered eligible for admission. To get admitted in ABDCH, Bangalore, the students should secure not less than 50 percent of marks on the aggregate of the above subjects in the qualifying examination. They are also required to be aged at least 17 years at the time of admission or be completing 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Medical fitness of the students is also a criterion for admission.
