It is located in the Maharashtra state of India. It is positioned 5 Kilometres of same path of Revdanda of Alibaug city. The beach is situated near Mandwa.

It is home to various forts including MurudJanjira and Kolaba Fort. MurudJanjira is located 55 kilometres from Alibaug. This 40 feet tall fort was constructed by the Siddhis in 15th Century to save the city from sea bandits. The Kolaba fort is located in a walking distance. Another attraction of the beach is the old epigraph dating back to 1012. It is mainly explored by the tourists who are interested in local literature and history.

People touring Akshi beach can also visit the Akshi village which is popular for fishing. The houses in Akshi village are interesting to observe. Most of the houses in Akshi village are constructed under the coconut trees. They look charming and attractive.

The nearby temples like VikramVinayak temple, Uma Maheshwari Temple and Balaji Temple in Alibaug are equally popular among the tourists.

The beach is well connected by airway, railway and roadway. The nearest airport to Alibaug is situated in Mumbai. The closest railhead to Alibaug is Panvel situated 28 Kilometres from Alibaug. The road route to reach the beach is very impressive as various national highways connect with Alibaug.

Tourists can avail State local Transport direct buses from Pune to reach Alibaug. The beach is just 15 minute drive within the city.
