Akshaye Khanna is an Indian movie actor who primarily works in the Bollywood industry. He is mostly known for critically and commercially acclaimed films. He is very famous for his well known dimpled smile in Bollywood. Akshaye Khanna is described as being a very shy and introvert person, yet very friendly. Early Life of Akshaye Khanna
Akshaye Khanna was born on 28th March 1975 in Mumbai. He is the son of late famous Bollywood actor and politician Vinod Khanna and his first wife Geetanjali. Rahul Khanna, his younger brother is also a Bollywood star. He has completed a training course at Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute.

Career of Akshaye Khanna
Akshaye Khanna started his film career at the age of 22 with "Himalaya Putra" produced by his father which failed to leave a mark in the box office. Next he starred in J.P. Dutta"s "Border". The following years went disruptive with movies like "Mohabbat", "Kudrat", "Lawaris", "Love You Hamesha" and "Dahek: A Burning Passion" flopping at the box office. But Subhash Ghai"s "Taal" in 1999 put this talented actor back in the reckoning. He acted opposite Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor which went on to be a huge hit. The actor"s next release was Farhan Akhtar"s "Dil Chahta Hai" along with co actors Amir Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Akshay"s role was critically applauded and he went on to star in Abbas-Mustan"s "Humraaz" in the year 2002. In that film he was cast in a negative role for the first time. His performance was applauded. He then attempted comedy in Priyadarshan"s "Hungama" in 2003 and "Hulchul" in 2004. Both films did well at the box office, with the latter becoming one of the highest grossing films of 2004.

Although Akshaye Khanna"s releases, "Shaadi Se Pehle" and "Aap Ki Khatir” "failed at the box office, his other release in the same year i.e. in 2006 "36 China Town" performed moderately well. He was acted in Nikhil Advani"s multi-starrer, "Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love". This was followed by the suspense thriller "Naqaab" by Abbas-Mustan. Akshaye Khanna"s portrayal of "Harilal Gandhi" in the critically acclaimed, "Gandhi, My Father" is really astonishing and was praised by the critics as his best performance till date. His other releases in 2008 were "Mere Baap Pehle Aap" and "Race" with the later portraying Khanna in a negative role and being the fourth biggest hit of the year. In 2010, he had two releases "Aakrosh" and "Tees Maar Khan". In the beginning of the year 2011 Akshay featured in the movie "No Problem" alongside Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kangna Ranaut. In 2012, he starred in the comedy drama "Gali Gali Chor Hai", which was also a box office flop.

In 2016, he made his comeback as an antagonist in the action-comedy film "Dishoom". The film received a mixed response and did average business at the box office. In 2017, he appeared as an investigative cop in two separate thrillers, "Mom" and "Ittefaq". In 2019, he starred in the book adaptation, "The Accidental Prime Minister" as the narrator of both the movie.
