Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane is an Indian cricketer, who made his ODI debut against England at Chester-le-Street in September 2011. Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane made his Test debut in March 2013.
Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane has made his T20I debut at Manchester in August 2011 and was soon gone to play ODI cricket as well. After Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane showed promise in the series, he was drafted into the Indian Test team. But, Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane remained a part of India`s Test squads for about 16 months, unable to break into the playing eleven. Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane finally made his debut as a middle-order batsman in the 2013 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane represents Mumbai in domestic competitions and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.
Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane made his List A debut for Mumbai against Delhiin the Ranji One-day Trophy in March 2007, at Delhi. Scoring 61 runs on debut, Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane was instrumental in 171 runs match winning opening partnership with former Indian Opener and Mumbai Senior Pro, Wasim Jaffer.
Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Karachi Urban in the Mohammed Nissar Trophy in September 2007, at Karachi, when most of the first-choice Mumbai players were unavailable for various reasons. He scored a century on debut 143 (207) against the Karachi urban attack comprising Anwar Ali. He made his Ranji Trophy debut for his First-class side Mumbai in the 2007/2008 season. His wonderful Ranji season followed an impressive showing in the 2007-08 Duleep Trophy, where he scored 172 against an England Lions attack comprising Graham Onions, Monty Panesar, Steve Kirby and Liam Plunkett He continued to impress in domestic cricket, scoring three hundreds each in the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons of the Ranji Trophy.
Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane rose to prominence in the IPL 2012 season for the Rajasthan Royals. Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane hit a match-winning 98 in his first game of IPL 2012 against Kings XI Punjab and followed that up with an unbeaten 103 against Royal Challengers Bangalore with 6 boundaries in one over against Sreenath Aravind - his first IPL hundred. His 84 off 63 balls against Delhi Daredevils was in vain though, as they lost by just one run.
