Acharya Narendra Dev College, a `constituent college of University of Delhi` which runs under the auspices and fully financed by `Government of NCT, Delhi`. Being set up in the year 1991, the college has a place of distinction of being the sole college in Delhi University that is chiefly for science. Named after Acharya Narendra Dev, the famous educationist as well as the reformist of Modern India, this college is located at Kalkaji, Govindpuri , New Delhi- 110019. Down the year Acharya Narendra Dev College has reputation of nurturing some of the scholarly students who are noted for their intellect and sense of social accountability and discipline.
This Acharya Narendra Dev College acts as pathfinder in several aspects. It is the first college of the University which has introduced B.Sc.(Honours ) course in Biomedical Science . Also it is the only institute, which is offering B.Sc general course in Sericulture (now B.Sc. Programme in Applied Life Science). In addition to the science courses, the college offers Honours in Mathematics and Commerce. Students can also take admission in Postgraduate Degree of Delhi University in science subjects like Chemistry and Mathematics. Apart from these this college also offers `Post Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Application (PGDCA)` of the Delhi University. Moreover a willing student also can pursue `part-time certificate and diploma courses in foreign languages` during evening session. For the students a handful of courses are allotted in streams like pure science and pure and applied science. These include B.Sc. Honours in subjects like Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany Computer Science, and Zoology. Special B.Sc. Programmes also are offered in science disciplines like Physical sciences, Life Sciences, Applied Physical Sciences and Applied Life Sciences.
Certificate Courses on foreign languages like French, German, Spanish, Russian are offered. One also can pursue Diploma Courses like German, Spanish, Russian. These courses are all self financed.
Acharya Narendra Dev College`s campus has been distinctly marked out by the experts. . Although it is housed in an ancient school mansion, it is noted for the quality teaching. The laboratories and other services that are facilitated are high-tech and one of the finest in the whole of Delhi University. If one gets inside he will be mesmerized by the wonderful ambience of the campus. It is huge and airy.
The gates open to a neatly cobbled parking region and sprawling lawns with large trees facing all pathways. The lesson blocks are low raised which spread over large areas.
