Abbot Mount, UttarakhandAbbot Mount is a beautiful and picturesque place located at a height of 6500 mts above sea level. It is located in the Champawat District of Uttarakhand state. Abbot Mount is 80 kms away from Tanakpur Raiway Station and 8 kms from Lohaghat. It is also popularly written as Abbott Mount and Abott Mount. It offers salubrious, serene and tranquil environment. The enchanting and exquisite snow covered Himalayan Mountain peaks can be seen from Abbot Mount. It is situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city and there are 13 scheduled cottages located in the hills.

One of the nearest towns located near Abbot Mount is Lohaghat. This particular hill station was founded by John Harold Abbot, a businessman from England, and was named after the founder. Comparing to all the other hill stations Abbot Mount has changed little since its inception. There are picturesque churches located in the middle of the forest in Abbot Mount and you can also experience the ravishing view of the mountains.

Abbot Mount is the perfect place for trekking, birding and photography. This place is also getaway for base camp fishermen who wish to fish at Pancheshwar, located at the confluence of Saryuand Mahakali River. Screw Pine and Deodar forest, mountain, Himalayan birds makes Abbot Mount a perfect destination. There are 13 old cottages spread all over the hills at Abbot Mount.

There is no particular time to visit Abbot Mount, as it is beautiful and serene round the year. But it is better advised that monsoons are avoided as there are road blockades due to landslides. The region remains covered with layers of snow during the winter months and during summers the environment is soothing and pleasant.
