Aadesh Shrivastava was a prominent name in the Indian music industry especially in Bollywood arena who worked primarily as a music director. He had also voiced some of his compositions. Over years he had composed a number of songs for Bollywood garnering appreciations.
Aadesh Shrivastava was also the vice president of the Music Composers Association of India. Aadesh Shrivastava began his career as a drummer and worked for renowned musicians. Gradually he stepped into the arena of music direction and established a strong footing amongst the prominent ones. Many of his compositions topped the charts over years rendering him fame and success in the Bollywood music industry.
Early Life of Aadesh Shrivastava
Aadesh Shrivastava was born on 4th September 1966 to a Hindu Kayastha family in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh. Initially he was inclined towards becoming a doctor but his passion for music drove him to the music industry for pursuing a career as a music composer. He acquired training for playing the drums. Later he moved to Mumbai to establish himself in the music industry. After shifting to Mumbai, Aadesh Shrivastava met the composers Sapan-Jagmohan which paved his way to the musical arena in Hindi film industry. Subsequently he started his career by playing drums and gained recognition by playing for eminent music directors such as Salil Chowdhury, Shankar Jaikishan and O. P. Nayyar. For about a decade he also assisted the famed music composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal after which he took up independent project as a music director.
Musical Career of Aadesh Shrivastava
Aadesh Shrivastava got his first break in the year 1993 with the Bollywood flick Kanyadaan. One of his compositions was sung by the celebrated playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. However the film was shelved for some reason and his work went unnoticed. Aadesh Shrivastava returned with the movie Aao Pyaar Karen in which the track `Haathon mein aa gaya jo kal` became huge hit. Other movies for which he composed music include Shastra and Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya. Once again his composition `Kya ada kya jalwe tere Paro` from the film Shastra went on to top chartbuster. His music in the 1998 film Angaarey also became hit. His other popular songs included `Gur nalon ishq mitha`, `Gustakhiyaan`, `Shava shava`, `Sona sona` and many more. His songs in the movies Shikari, Tarkieb and Kunwara won much appreciation. He also earned success by composing the songs of the film Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai. Other movies for which he composed music include Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Deewaanapan, Chalte Chatle, Baabul, Khuda Kasam and many more. He has also done playback singing in many films. His semi classical song `Mora Piya` form the 2010 movie Raajneeti also became a huge hit.
Later Career of Aadesh Shrivastava
In 2005 Aadesh Shrivastava appeared in the talent hunt show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 as a judge. In the next year he ventured into film direction with a short film on child prostitution named Sanaa. In the year 2009 he did a cameo role in the movie World Cupp 2011 and also judged the show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009. Aadesh Shrivastava has also worked on the international arena and collaborated with renowned artists like Wyclef Jean, Julia Fordham and Akon. He launched a nation wide talent search on the website together with Akon. The website uses music analysis technology for predicting the hit potential of new songs. He has also collaborated with other international artists such as T-Pain, Shakira and Dominic Miller.
Achievements of Aadesh Shrivastava
In 2001 Aadesh Shrivastava won IIFA Award for Technical Excellence for Best Background Score for the movie Refugee. He had also received nominations for a number of films in esteemed award ceremonies.

Personal Life of Aadesh Shrivastava
Aadesh Shrivastava was married to the
Bollywood actress and playback singer Vijeta Pandit, who also happens to be the sister of actress
Sulakshana Pandit and music composer
Jatin Lalit. The couple has two sons named Anivesh and Avitesh. In December 2010 Aadesh Shrivastava was diagnosed with cancer. However after undergoing chemotherapy he resumed his work in the music industry. But on 31st August 2015 his cancer had relapsed for a third time since his first attack in 2010 and he had been hospitalised for more than a month. He died on 5th September 2015 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Mumbai.
