Nazrul Geeti refers to the songs composed and written by Kazi Nazrul Islam, which are almost 4000 in total. Nazrul Geeti has been composed in different musical styles; one of them is Revolutionary Mass Music or Patriotic Songs. Kazi Nazrul Islam, being a revolutionary or rebel poet, also composed several patriotic songs, which are a symbol of revolution and a hope against fascism and oppression. The songs played a major role in Bangladesh Liberation War and were also used during Indian Independent Movement.
