Located at Jatwara, Sonipat in the Indian state of Haryana, Khwaja Khizr Tomb was built by Ibrahim Lodi around 1522 to 1524 CE. Khwaja Khizr, the son of Darya Khan, was a Sufi saint who lived during the reign of Ibrahim Lodhi and the tomb was built to preserve his mortal remains after his death.

Spreading over an area of almost 10 acres, the tomb of Khwaja Khizr was built in an Indo Islamic architecture style and is currently governed by the Archaeological Survey of India. The tomb is erected over an elevated platform and is reinforced with square extensions at the corners. The Khwaja Khizr tomb is approachable through wide stairs leading to its gateway, which consists of two arches at the terminal end of the central passage. The exterior of the gateway is embellished with lotus medallions, arched recesses and floral designs with a hue of various colours that creates an enchanting look.

The cenotaph or the burial chamber of the Khwaja Khizr Tomb is surrounded by a semi-circular dome built upon low drums and topped by a canopy standing on an inverted lotus flower. The tomb is one of the few monuments that is built with kankar blocks along with red sandstone and is ringed by 4 acres of lush green gardens.
