Rakshanda Khan was born on 27th September 1974 in Mumbai, India. She has 2 older brothers and 1 younger brother. She did her schooling from Alexandra Girls English Institute and later did her graduation in B.A. English Literature from St Xavier`s College in 1995. The former model also dabbled as a television anchor for sometime before catapulting to fame with her acting flair.

Rakshanda Khan became a household name by the character portrayal of Tanya in the very popular K-series soap `Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi` aired on STAR Plus. She has also gained much fame and recognition by the role of Mallika in the popular television serial `Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin` in the SONY TV Channel.

In another popular K-series soap, `Kasamh Se` she was seen for a brief span in the character portrayal of the ex love of the business tycoon Jay Walia. She has also worked in other serials like `Saara Aakash` and `Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat.` She has also been associated with the ICC Champions Trophy as part of the popular show Extra Innings. Rakshanda Khan has also been the host of many popular television shows.
