Benefits of Tobacco
Although in present-day society associated with a myriad of health issues, including cancer and cardiovascular diseases, this plant has been used for medicinal, as well as ritual purposes for millennia. The smoke was believed to cure headache, colds, asthma, earache, nausea and even exhaustion. The leaves or juice of the plant was used to treat burns, cuts, deafness, eye infections, constipation, boils, sores, croup, fluid retention and animal bites, especially those that were poisonous, among other ailments.
