Indian WritersLiterature is a part of the heritage of India. Indian literature exists in varied languages. Various Indians skilled in writing have contributed in creating this part of India"s heritage in the form of stories, novels, prose, essays, etc. Given below are some of the Indian Writers.

English Writers
Tabish Khair is an Indian English author and associate professor in the Department of English, University of Aarhus in Denmark. Ritu Lalit works as an Indian novelist, short story writer and blogger. Some of the other English Writers are Chetan Bhagat, Daisy Hasan and Anjum Hasan.

Hindi Writers
Munshi Premchand is recognized as one of the leading Hindi writers of India. Jaishankar Prasad is recognized as a novelist, playwright and poet. Krishna Sobti is recognized as a Hindi fiction writer. Some of the other Hindi Writers are Hari Joshi, Jainendra Kumar and Harishankar Parsai.

Rajasthani Writers
Indian WritersBankidas Ashiya was a Rajasthani poet and scholar. Dr. Arjun Deo Charan is recognized as a Rajasthani poet, critic, playwright, theatre director and translator. Some of the other Rajasthani Writers are Narayan Singh Bhati, Abdul Vaheed `Kamal` and Sobhagya Singh Shekhawat.

Gujarati Writers
Milind Gadhavi is recognized as a Gujarati language poet and lyricist. Ashwini Bhatt is recognized as a Gujarati language novelist. Some of the other Gujarati Writers are Himanshi Shelat, Mulshankar Bhatt and Mohan Parmar.

Bengali Writers
Sunil Gangopadhyay is recognized as a Bengali poet and novelist. Bani Basu is a Bengali author, essayist, critic and poet. Three other Bengali Writers are Subodh Sarkar, Samaresh Basu and Sandipan Chattopadhyay.

Odia Writers
Surendra Mohanty, an Oriya writer has created short stories, novels, travelogues and biographies. Sachidananda Routray is recognized as an Odia poet, novelist and short-story writer. Manoj Das and Kamalakanta Jena are the two other Odia Writers.

Assamese Writers
Indian WritersAnanda Chandra Barua is recognized as an Assamese writer, playwright, journalist and actor. Parvati Prasad Baruva is a revered poet, lyricist and dramatist from Assam. Banikanta Kakati is recognized as an Assamese writer, critic and scholar. Three of the other Assamese Writers are Syed Abdul Malik, Lakshminath Bezbaroa and Saurabh Kumar Chaliha.

Tamil Writers
Vittal Rao K is recognized as a Tamil writer, more specifically, a short story writer, a novelist and an essayist. Nanjil Nadan has depicted his versatility in writing novels, short story anthologies, essays and poetry. Some of the other Tamil Writers are Thangam Krishnamurthy, Indira Parthasarathy and C. S. Lakshmi.

Kannada Writers
M. Chidananda Murthy is recognized as a Kannada writer, researcher and historian. K. S. Bhagawan is recognized as a Kannada writer, translator and retired professor. As a Kannada writer, Sara Aboobacker has created novels and short stories. Three other Kannada Writers are Gopalakrishna Pai, Javare Gowda and Aravind Malagatti.
