The infantry formation of the 75th Indian Infantry Brigade operated under the British Indian Army. It remained in active service from the year 1942 to 1945. It was raised in April 1942 by the British Empire in India during the Second World War. Later the brigade was re-designated as the Garda¡ Brigade.
The troops of the 75th Indian Infantry Brigade fought in several British battles and military operation during World War II. The military formation remained in British India throughout the war. The 75th Indian Infantry Brigade was formally dissolved in August 1945.
Formation of 75th Indian Infantry Brigade
The 75th Indian Infantry Brigade incorporated a number of British Indian infantry regiments. These are listed below-
* 8/2nd Punjab Regiment (April 1943 - July 1943)
* 14/1st Punjab Regiment (April 1942 - August 1944)
* 14/14th Punjab Regiment (April 1942 - August 1943; February 1944 - August 1944)
* 9/10th Baluch Regiment (April 1943 - March 1944)
* 16/5th Mahratta Light Infantry (March 1944 - August 1944)
* 9/19th Hyderabad Regiment (November 1942 - August 1943)
Later the brigade was designated as the Gardai Brigade and it included the following regiments-
* 14/1st Punjab Regiment (August 1944 - October 1944)
* 8/10th Baluch Regiment (October 1944 - August 1945)
* 1st The Mahar Regiment (October 1944 - March 1945)
* 6/11th Sikh Regiment (November 1944 - August 1945)
* 15/7th Rajput Regiment (October 1944 - August 1945)
* 8/9th Jat Regiment (June 1945 - August 1945)
* 9/9th Jat Regiment (February 1945 - August 1945)
