She began her career as a print model and later shifted her focus towards acting to pursue a career in the same. She started with minor roles but soon bagged the critically acclaimed movies through which she marked her presence in the Indian film industry.

Early Life of Nimrat Kaur
Nimrat Kaur was born on 13th March 1982 in Pilani town of Rajasthan. Her father was in Indian Army and Nimrat was primarily raised in Bathinda and Patiala. She did her initial schooling from Yadavindra Public School, Patiala. In the year 1994 she lost her father in a terrorist attack in Kashmir. Afterwards, she along with her mother and sister moved to Delhi-suburb, Noida and completed her schooling from Delhi Public School, Noida. She completed her higher education from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. At the same time she also began taking part in local theatres. Her younger sister is Rubina Singh.

Career of Nimrat Kaur
Nimrat Kaur moved to Mumbai after completing her studies and started her career as a print model. There she also engaged herself in theatres with directors like Manav Kaul and Sunil Shanbag. She has enacted in plays such as Red Sparrow, All About Women and Baghdad Wedding. She made her screen debut in 2002 with a music video of an indipop album `Tera Mera Pyaar` by Kumar Sanu and Shreya Ghoshal. She appeared in the title song of the album. She stepped into the film arena in 2006 with a small role in the English movie One Night with the King. The movie was shot in Rajasthan. She made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with the film `Peddlers` under the production of Anurag Kashyap. The movie was screened at Cannes Film Festival where it received critical acclamations. Her next venture was the Bollywood movie `Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana` in 2012 in which she appeared with Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi. In 2013, she starred in the romantic flick The Lunchbox for which she attended the Cannes Film Festival for the second time. Nimrat Kaur also earned popularity for her Cadbury Dairy Milk-Silk commercial.
