Libraries of North India consists of Panjab Digital Library, State Central Library and many other libraries which cater to the education and research among the populace.

Libraries of North IndiaThe northern part of India comprises of states namely, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. North India occupies an area of about 1,420,540 square kilometers. Taking care of the education of the people residing in these states are various boards like Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education, Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Haryana Board of School Education, Uttarakhand Board of School Education, Central Board of Secondary Education, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, several colleges and universities. Apart from these boards and institutions, North India has several libraries which serve as significant sources of information and wisdom for the students.

Libraries of Punjab
The state of Punjab has several libraries. These are Panjab Digital Library, A. C. Joshi Library, Central Library, Bhai Gurdas Library, Guru Nanak Dev District Library, Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha Library, Sikh Reference Library, District Library, Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, etc.

Libraries of Jammu and Kashmir
The state of Jammu and Kashmir is known for important organization called the Department of Libraries and Research. This pioneer organization serves as a home to collections of books, journals, etc. This library has been provided with reading rooms. It also provides its visitors with free borrowing facilities.

Libraries of Haryana
The state of Haryana serves as a home to libraries like State Central Library, District Library, Nehru Library, Bookpal Library, Jain library, PDM Central Library, Guru Gobind Singh Library, GBET Public Library and Manav Seva Library.

Libraries of Himachal Pradesh
The state of Himachal Pradesh has two noteworthy libraries. These are Himachal Pradesh University Library and Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA). The former library has almost 2 lakh books and has space to accommodate about 450 readers and a total of 100 research scholars on separate floors in various cubicles. The latter library has a total of about 80000 manuscripts, journals, reading materials, 600 statues and other materials, which symbolize the rich Buddhist culture. Other such libraries are Government District Mahima Library, Government District Library, Motilal Nehru Central State Library, etc.

Libraries of Uttar Pradesh
Some of the libraries in Uttar Pradesh are Maulana Azad Library, Amir-ud-daula Public Library, Bharati Bhavan Library, Rampur Raza Library, Sarasvati Bhavan Library, Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Library and Thornhill Mayne Memorial.

Libraries of Uttarakhand
The state of Uttarakhand serves as a home to libraries like Doon Library and Research Centre, Sri Guru Nanak Public Library, Songtsen Library, Mahatma Gandhi IIT Central Library, Gandhi Library and Bengali Library.
