Duarsini, West BengalDuarsini is located around 13 km from Burdwan town in Purulia district which marks the border of Indian states of Jharkhand with West Bengal. Duarsini is a village bordered by undulating hills and lush forests.

The forest of Duarsini in Purulia is dotted with shal, piyal, shimul and palash trees with the Satgurang River flowing across. At night one can hear the music of "Madol", (drum) reverberating from the tribal village. They celebrate a number of festivals all over the year. This popular place is easily accessible to the tourists as there are ample rail and road facilities that are available for tourists. There are cheap and affordable forest bungalows under the government of West Bengal which are readily available.

The major attractions of this place are the tribal villages of tribes like Santhal, Munda, Shabaradh, and Kheriya. The jungle is an interesting place to visit, where wild animals like Bear, Wild Pig, and herds of Elephants, striped Hyena, and Wolf, along with some known and unknown birds can be seen. Sometimes a group of Elephants may come out from Dalma to visit Duarsini. One can spend hours sitting by the side of the river Satgurung. It is a wonderful weekend destination.

Visiting Information
One can reach Ghatshila by train from Howrah. From Ghatshila a visitor can get hired car to reach Duarsini which is 20 km from Gatshila, which is another tourist location in West Bengal.
