Thindalmalai Murugan Temple is a famous Hindu temples located in the city of erode in Tamil Nadu. It is on the Perundurai Road that connected the city with Coimbatore and to Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The Lord is also known by other names like Thindalmalai murugan, Velayuthaswamy, Kulanthi velayuthaswamy, Kumara velayuthaswamy. The deity Lord Murugan found here is `Sri Velayudhaswami.
The temple is decorated with the images of Subramaniyar, Valli Theyvanai, Mayilvakanam, Lord Shiva, Parvati, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Laxmi. The temple has a Golden Chariot Temple Car, which runs around the temple on the hillock. The area enclosing this hill is known as Thindal. The western part of this hillock is called Mael Thindal or Thindal medu and the eastern part is known as Keel Thindal.
