Tarkarli Beach, MaharashtraTarkarli beach is situated in the Indian state of Maharashtra, in the Sindhudurg district. It is an inviting tourist destination in coastal Maharashtra and one of the most picturesque beaches of the Konkan region. It is located 6 kilometres south of Malvan and 546 kilometres away from Mumbai. Over the years the place has garnered popularity owing to the narrow and long stretch of fine white sandy beach with serene waters, pristine natural beauty and adventure sports cherished in the sea water. Under the clear blue sky the crystal clear water allows visibility up to the depth of 20 feet. The spectacular background of the beach is dotted with tall Shuru trees. Often dolphins can also be spotted in the sea. The mesmerising view of sunset over the sparkling blue water of the sea creates an unforgettable experience to cherish for lifetime.

Tourist Attractions of Tarkarli Beach
Tarkarli beach offers a panoramic view of the famous naval fort Sindhudurg built by Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century and the famed Padmagarh fort. The village of Tarkali is popular for its Ramnavmi Utsav. It houses the Mapurush Temple where the grand celebration of Ramnavmi is arranged every year. Backwaters of Karli River
The backwaters of Karli River in the background of Tarkarli beach form another attraction which stretches from Tarkarli to Kudal. In the state of Maharashtra, it is credited as the only place where the backwater can be cherished. The estuary of Karli River is also situated near Tarkali which forms another scenic destination. Maharashtra state tourism department in the year 2003 started houseboats on the Karli River for augmenting tourism.

Visiting Information
Dabolim (Goa) is the nearest airport to reach Tarkarli beach while Kudal is the nearest railhead. The beach has good roadways connectivity and regular bus services are also available. Tourist resorts can also be availed by the tourists for accommodation.
