All India Carrom Federation
All India Carrom Federation is a formal non governmental body, recognized by Government of India that takes care of all the issues related to carrom in India.

All India Carrom Federation, Carrom in IndiaAll India Carrom Federation (AICF) came into existence on 4rt March in the year 1956 with Chennai, Mumbai,Delhi, Saurashtra, Hyderabad and Madhya Pradesh.

The then Minister of Agriculture and Food, Planning and Rehabilitation ofAndhra Pradesh, Dr. M. Chenna Reddy, was elected as the first President of Federation and the post of General Secretary was given to Dr. R.S. Cunniah of Chennai.

After the formation the highest body, neatly knit State level association took over the management, control and organization in their respective regions. During the present times, the Federation has around 30 state level bodies and 18 institutions in all over the country, India.

Recognition of All India Carrom Federation
All India Carrom Federation was recognized by the Government of India on 26th October in 1970, and since then it has been getting regular aid and grants to improve and promote the condition of the game in India. The Central Government also sanctioned the post of assistant secretary for All India Carrom Federation. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) also recognized the All India Carrom Federation (AICF) during October 1997. The Federation is associated to the International Carrom Federation and the Asian Carrom Confederation.

Management of All India Carrom Federation
The All India Carrom Federation supervises and controls the carrom related activities in India associated through District Associations and State Associations. This organizing body, Every year organizes national competitions for veterans and senior players (above 45 years of age) youth players (below 21 years of age),junior players (below 18 years of age), sub-junior players (below 14 years of age) and cadet players (below 12 years of age) in both male and female. It also organizes All India Federation Cup Carrom Tournament and Inter-Institution National Championship every year. Already this body has organized 117 national championships. It also conducts regional and zonal tournaments.

Organizing the Tournaments of Carrom
The All India Carrom Federation has made bilateral arrangements with many other nations for organizing Test Series. Countries like Germany, Sri Lanka and U.K are playing Test Series with India on a regular basis. Apart from Test series, All India Carrom Federation also organizes international matches to promote the game among the masses. In India the organization has already organized two World Carrom Championships, first in 1991 and second time in 2000, the World Cup Carrom Tournament during 2006 and the SAARC Countries Carrom Championship during 2004 all at New Delhi. Apart from this, the organization has also hosted Asian Carrom Championships at Raipur in 2007 and at Pune in 2009 and SAARC Countries Carrom Championships at Nagpur in 2007 and at Mumbai in 2009. Added to it AICF also helps player for international tournaments.

It overlooks all the matters of District and State Association to conduct District and State Championships regularly and also works towards promoting the game in India. Presently, the Federation has shifted its aim on marketing and Media publicity of this game.
