Manipur Zoological Garden, ManipurKnown as the "Jewel Box" of the state, the Manipur Zoological Garden is located about 7 km away from the capital city of Imphal in Manipur. Established on 2nd October, 1976, this zoological garden serves as a sanctuary to many endangered species of flora and fauna.

Overview of Manipur Zoological Garden
Recognised as a medium zoo by the Central Zoo Authority, the Manipur Zoological Garden spreads over an area of 8 hectares with an additional 2.13 hectares at the Langol Reserve Forest. It is here in the Manipur Zoological Garden that the captive breeding of one of the world"s most endangered species, Sangai occurs. The zoological garden hosts 55 different species of avifauna and over 450 species of animals along with 14 endangered species. The garden has a rare collection of flora and fauna that attracts visitors from all around.
