Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the state of Tripura and was constituted on 2nd February 1987. This sanctuary has 456 plant species. There are trees of Sal, Chamal, Garjan and Kanak exist. The secondary species consist of Pichla, Kurcha, Awla, Bahera, Hargaja, Amlaki, Bamboos and grasses are also found here. This sanctuary is home to other endangered species.
Spectacle monkeys can be easily sighted inside the sanctuary. Spectacled langur is an endemic species of Tripura that is found here. One can find here more than hundred species of birds. Some of the migratory birds are whistling teal, white ibis and open billed stork.
This sanctuary is divided into two ranges: Sepahijala Wildlife Range and Park Range. Park Range is administered the responsibility of zoo and Botanical Garden. Sepahijala wildlife Range looks after three wildlife Centers - Bankumari, Sepahijala and Charilam.
