Sahara One is a Hindi entertainment channel of Indian Television. It is an operation of Sahara India Pariwar, a company formed by Subrato Roy Sahara. It is one of the largest conglomerates of India.

In April, 2003, Sahara TV was renamed Sahara Manoranjan and on October 10, 2004, the channel was renamed Sahara One- a free to air channel. This channel offers its viewers a mix of engrossing fiction and non fiction events.

The channel is popular amongst viewers also for its non-fiction shows, mega events, kids programming, feature films and film based programs. It has the distinction of launching India`s first live TV game show - Dial One Aur Jeeto, hosted by Mandira Bedi, which was a huge, hit. Sahara One`s vision is to offer world-class entertainment in Television and Motion Pictures so as to become the preferred destination of viewers and stakeholders.

Aim of Sahara One
The mission of Sahara One is to entertain India. At present, it has a strong presence in both, Television and Motion Pictures, which are the two largest media of entertainment in India today. Sahara One Motion Pictures is one of India`s largest movie production houses in the business of producing, marketing and distribution of motion pictures in Hindi and other regional Indian languages. The television business operates two television channels - Sahara One Television that is a general entertainment channel and Sahara Filmy which is a Hindi movie channel.

Sahara One Television channel is associated with the top production houses and offers its viewers a large number of popular fiction and non-fiction shows. Sahara One will also be launching a new Hindi Music channel catering to millions of music lovers in India and worldwide. Programmes on Sahara One includes daily soaps starring Bollywood celebrities, mega movies from Bollywood, popular children`s shows, game shows, thrillers, talk shows, style and fashion, live call in shows and much more. Sahara One also covers special events like the Sahara Sangeet Awards, Mr. & Miss Bollywood, Indian Divas and the Mrs. World beauty pageant. This channel is focusing on providing an entertaining and engrossing portrayal of strong, independent thinking Indian women in its soaps and serials. Marketing of Sahara One
Supporting the launch, the channel has designed an aggressive marketing campaign. The channel is also conducting a parallel ground event called `The Big Feast`. This would provide an opportunity to viewers to come forth and personally experience the show. The event is being conducted in seven cities across the country before the show goes on air and has been promoted across media.
