The Sri BM Patil Medical College (BMPMC) is one of the established and recognised medical institutions in the state of Karnataka and the college is located in the district of Bijapur. Founded in the year 1986, the college started its journey with a view to achieve a large number of aims and objectives. The college was established and being run and managed by the Bijapur Liberal District Education Association (BLDEA). The college is presently affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangaluru and it is also recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Delhi.

The courses are offered at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and the college admits several students in the courses, every year. MBBS Degree Course being the main undergraduate course, the college also offers many postgraduate courses like MD and MS. The major postgraduate courses offered by the college include MD in Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, and in Dermatology & STD. The college also offers MS in Anatomy, General Surgery and Ophthalmology.

There are a large number of important departments in the Sri BM Patil Medical College (BMPMC), Bijapur and the departments have been working relentlessly on providing medical education to the students.
