Pasumarty Venu Gopala Krishna Sarma is a famous theatre personality as female impersonator. He is also a teacher of Kuchipudi. Born in Kuchipudi village, Krishna district in 1929 he studied the dance-drama from gurus Chinta Venkataramayya and Vedantam Lakshminarayana Sastri, and also learnt music. He played lead roles and also performed as sntmdham. He was an actor-dancer for many years in Venkatarama Natya Mandali and Shri Siddhendra Kalakshetram. He served as principal of the latter institution. Pasumarty Venu Gopala Krishna Sarma trained a large number of students and kept the tradition alive. After retirement, he continued to guide the artists in Kuchipudi village.
