Location of Netarhat
Netarhat is situated at a height of 37000 fts is 156 kms away from Ranchi. This hill station is located at the plateau which is covered with thick forests.

Geography of Netarhat
Netarhat plateau extends up to 4 miles which means it is 6.4 km long and 2.5 miles or 4 km broad. It mainly consists of crystalline rocks and has a summit capped with sandstone trap or laterite. The highest point is 3696 ft. Netarhat is a beautiful resort during summer. Dense forests, serpentine roads, cool bracing breeze, moonlit nights must have persuaded its visitors to call this place a complete `nature` or heart of Netarhat. Generally people visit this place to enjoy the breath taking sunrise and sunset.

Tourism in Netarhat
Netarhat includes a number of places which are developed as popular sights for tourism. These include the places like Lodh Falls which is 61 kms from Netarhat. It is one of the biggest water falls of Jharkhand where water falls from height of 468 ft; Sadni Falls that is 35 kms. It is a snake type water fall which was known for the great diamond mines in 16th and 17th century. Presently it is mainly known as a popular tourist spot surrounded by spectacular hillocks, streams and waterfalls. Betla National Park is another exciting tourist spot of Netarhat which is located at a distance of 215kms and can be reached via Kuru. It is 104 kms via Banari. It is a rich national park with tigers, panthers, elephants etc.

Netarhat is surrounded with some more tourist spots like Magnolia point which is 10 kilometers from Netarhat. This site is ideal for viewing sunset; Upper Ghagri falls which are located at a distance of 4 kms from Netarhat, Lower Ghagri falls at a distance of 10 kilometers from Netarhat; Koel River which is located at three kilometers from Netarhat, and Lodh falls which are 60 kms from Netarhat. Surrounded with a number of waterfalls, Netarhat enjoys the richest scenic beauty with evergreen forests.
