Lachung River, Indian RiverLachung River is a tributary of the River Teesta. It flows in the Sikkim state of India. It is known as Lachung chu in local language. The river joins Lachen River at Chungthang. Lachung village is situated on the banks of this river.

The picturesque mountain village of Lachung is one of the nearby attractions of this river. The village is sprawled across the banks of the Lachung River at a height of 8610 ft. The river slices the village in two. Lachung village is known for snow capped mountain peaks, waterfalls, streams and apple orchards.

Another nearby attraction of this river is the Lachung Gompa. Built around 1880, the Gompa is nestled amidst apple orchards across the river. Tourists can also visit the handicraft centre which houses elegantly woven rugs and blankets.
